About Us

Owner-artist Sacha Maxwell started Sasquatch Studios in August of 2009. The boutique was opened on Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) in 2009 just in time for holiday shoppers.

Since then, the store has been growing and refining in character.

Sacha incorporates her environmental minded-ness (she has a Masters in Environmental Science from Western Washington University) by making educated buying decisions.

Sacha's creative pursuits include photography, jewelry making, and clothing design (be on the lookout for SMAX apparel a womens' clothing line coming soon.

The collection is inspired by natural, reclaimed, and hand-made pieces. Items that are made abroad come from people- and earth-friendly companies.

Sasquatch Studios' missions are to:
- provide great art, apparel, and decor to make your environment more beautiful
- support talented artists, designers and artisans
- leave a light footprint on the earth.

Sasquatch Studios' presence on Martha's Vineyard is via Vintage Elements, managed by Sacha's Mother, Jo Maxwell. Jo is also the owner of Chesca's, a fantastic restaurant on the Vineyard (and the source of the yummy sauces and dressings we sell!).
